Emerson Royal was on the scoresheet for Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday and has received a message from Giovani Lo Celso.

Spurs hosted West Ham United on Sunday afternoon with three points needed in a London derby.

Tottenham were fairly pedestrian in the first half but did take the lead after the break.

Stunning pass from Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg found Ben Davies breaking towards the West Ham goal.

The Welshman kept his cool to find Emerson Royal, who slotted Tottenham into the lead.

Son Heung-min came off the bench to grab number two for Tottenham, securing all three points and bragging rights.

Emerson Royal celebrates Tottenham win, Giovani Lo Celso sends message

If you had asked Tottenham fans to guess the first goalscorer, very few would have gone with Emerson Royal.

The Brazilian hasn’t always impressed as a wing back and his form ultimately tempted Spurs into signing Pedro Porro on deadline day.

Porro struggled on his debut though and Emerson is stepping up having also excelled against Manchester City.

A hard worker who truly gives his all, Emerson may just be changing a few minds in the Tottenham fanbase.

The former Barcelona ace took to Instagram to celebrate both his goal and the win.

“Very happy for today’s game… let’s go for more! Very happy for the goal,” said Emerson.

Giovani Lo Celso – on loan at Villarreal from Tottenham – sent a message to Emerson, simply saying ‘grande hermanooooo’ – essentially calling Emerson’s display ‘huge’ whilst calling him ‘brother’.

It’s nice to see Lo Celso keeping tabs on Tottenham games even from Spain, and Spurs fans would love to see a few more goals from Emerson.

Many Spurs fans replied to Emerson’s post by praising him for his hard work with the 24-year-old slowly winning over Tottenham supporters.
