Tottenham Hotspur are set to play a post-season friendly game in Hong Kong, SkySports report, and two players who could really benefit from the fixture will miss out.

The friendly game is due to take place on May 26, five days after the final game of the Premier League season.

The objective is clear; to boost Tottenham’s profile in Asia and net lucrative commercial contracts.

At a time when there is an expensive stadium to pay for, it is a necessary evil, even though the timing is hardly ideal. The Sun report Tottenham’s senior players are frustrated by the extra fixture.

The game could be useful for young players so they can get a semi-competitive game in alongside some senior pro’s, although two who could really benefit from it will miss out.

Defender Kyle Walker-Peters and midfielder Josh Onomah have both been named in Tottenham’s squads this season although are yet to start Premier League games.

They have been called up to England’s under-20 squad for the upcoming World Cup in Japan.

The squad fly out next week with England’s first game set to take place on May 23rd.

Onomah and Walker-Peters will have to rely on pre-season opportunities instead to try and catch Mauricio Pochettino’s eye.
