Tottenham Hotspur want Denzel Dumfries and his agent is now worried that Inter Milan will make him too expensive after the World Cup.

It’s no great surprise that Tottenham continue to be linked with signing wing backs.

They are absolutely vital to Conte’s 3-4-3 setup and he may not quite have what he needs at the moment.

Emerson Royal just isn’t a natural as a right wing back, Matt Doherty isn’t the long-term answer and Djed Spence isn’t in favour yet despite his summer arrival.

Tottenham Hotspur want Denzel Dumfries

Conte would no doubt love an instant impact wing back to makes his team more dangerous going forward.

Fans were excited last week when rumours emerged about a potential deal for Inter Milan star Denzel Dumfries.

90Min claimed that Tottenham have made initial contact with Inter to try and set up a January move for Dumfries.

Inter won’t want to sell easily and especially not after this World Cup.

Dumfries has proven his quality on the biggest stage of all, bagging two assists and a goal against the USA on Saturday.

There have been suggestions from Calciomercato that Inter are hiking up the asking price for Dumfries because he has been so good in Qatar.

That’s bad news for Tottenham but it sounds like Dumfries’ agent isn’t exactly pleased either.

Agent Rafaela Pimenta has told Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio that she hopes Dumfires’ value ‘hasn’t gone up too much’ because then it would be difficult to sell him.

Pimenta is seemingly eyeing up a move away from from the San Siro and is worried that teams will be scared off bidding for Dumfries because Inter’s demands will be so high.

“They are all players already known, but everyone watches the World Cup. Values change. Dumfries? I hope his value hasn’t gone up too much or it will be difficult to sell,” said Pimenta.

That’s certainly something Tottenham will now worry about too, with Fabio Paratici maybe having to find other wing back targets for 2023.
