Kevin Campbell has said on talkSPORT (9:12am, February 8, 2022) that Dele Alli struggled at Tottenham Hotspur because of Jose Mourinho.

The former Arsenal and Everton striker has said that midfielder Alli was the victim of Mourinho when the Portuguese was in charge of Tottenham.

Spurs offloaded the 25-year-old England international midfielder to Premier League rivals Everton on the final day of the January transfer window.

Sky Sports have reported that Tottenham could get £40 million in transfer fees for Alli eventually.

Campbell said on talkSPORT (9:12am, February 8, 2022): “Bringing Dele Alli, who had really gone stale at Spurs, and I think he is a victim of Mourinho, if I am honest with you.

“Before Mourinho actually went there, he was an England international. Since Mourinho really come in, I think Dele Alli lost his way a little bit.”

Former Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli could flourish at Everton

In our view, Alli could flourish away from Tottenham, and Everton are the perfect club for him.

Especially now that the Toffees have Frank Lampard as their manager.

Lampard is one of the greatest goalscoring midfielders the Premier League has ever seen, and the former Chelsea and England international could get Alli back to his best.

In our opinion, we cannot blame Mourinho for Alli’s struggles.

Yes, we know that the former Chelsea and Manchester United manager, now at AS Roma, did not always see eye to eye with Alli, but the midfielder had since worked with Nuno and Antonio Conte at Spurs.

And he could not impress either manager.
