Dejan Kulusevski claims he wants to stay at Tottenham Hotspur despite the rumours surrounding Antonio Conte’s future as Spurs boss.

Conte looks set to leave in the coming days having launched a stunning rant on his own players at the weekend.

Saturday’s 3-3 draw at Southampton seemed to tip Conte over the edge having been 3-1 up.

The Italian slammed his ‘selfish’ players and it looks like Conte’s position is now untenable.

Daniel Levy is likely to let Conte go very soon, even earlier than planned given that he was likely to leave this summer anyway.

That may throw the futures of some Tottenham players into doubt, and whilst most people are talking about Harry Kane, there is also the matter of Dejan Kulusevski’s future.

Dejan Kulusevski wants to stay at Tottenham Hotspur

Signed from Juventus in the January of 2022, Kulusevski joined Tottenham on an 18-month loan deal.

The terms of Kulusevski to join permanently are a little tricky.

Fabrizio Romano claims that, if Kulusevski plays 20 games in the Premier League – which must be for at least 45 minutes – and Tottenham qualify for the Champions League, then Spurs must pay €35million (£31million) to sign Kulusevski permanently.

Yet if conditions aren’t met, the obligation becomes an option and there is then a chance for Kulusevski to end up elsewhere.

Kulusevski is short of those 20 games at the moment and whilst Spurs are in the top four, they’re far from secure there.

Fans may be worried that Kulusevski will end up leaving Tottenham and following Conte out of the club.

However, Kulusevski has now told Fotboll Skanalen that he is going nowhere.

“No no. Absolutely not,” said Kulusevski when asked if Conte’s exit would affect the purchase option in his deal.

When asked if he wants to stay at Tottenham, Kulusevksi offered just three words – ‘Absolutely, that’s right’.

Kulusevski should be a player for Tottenham to build around in the coming years and these comments should ease any fears in North London.
