Conte offers two-word response when asked about Kulusevski playing for Tottenham on Wednesday

Dejan Kulusevski won’t face Sporting this week with Antonio Conte simply stating there is no chance for the Tottenham Hotspur winger to return.

This has been a tricky few days for Tottenham.

The 2-0 defeat at Manchester United in midweek was a major disappointment as Spurs looked for a statement win.

Conte couldn’t get back on track against Newcastle United on Sunday either, losing 2-1 to Eddie Howe’s Magpies.

The dour performances could be stomached when Tottenham were winning, but the results have dried up a little and Conte has questions to answer.

Dejan Kulusevski won’t face Sporting

Tottenham look so stale going forward and their last three goals have been a penalty, a deflection and a header from a corner.

Goals are goals and they all count the same, but you could forgive Tottenham fans for feeling a little worried about that run.

It’s absolutely undeniable that Tottenham are missing Dejan Kulusevski very badly.

The Swedish winger has been out since the international break having picked up a hamstring problem.

It looked like Kulusevski was coming back just a couple of weeks ago having returned to training, but he has now suffered a setback.

There are now fears that Kulusevski may not play for Tottenham again before the World Cup break.

Nobody in the Tottenham squad quite has the guile, patience and unselfishness in the final that Kulusevski can provide.

Kulusevski knits this Tottenham attack together and his absence has been huge in recent games.

Richarlison’s injury has compounded the problems for Tottenham and neither player will feature against Sporting on Wednesday night.

Tottenham boss Conte was asked about the duo after Sunday’s defeat to Newcastle and had a pretty blunt response.

Conte told Football London that there is simply ‘no chance’ that either player will be available to face Sporting.

Conte needs to find a solution to Tottenham’s attacking problems, but he will have to do it without Kulusevski and Richarlison for a little longer yet.
