Tottenham Hotspur defender Ben Davies has told the London Evening Standard that he believes his injury isn’t bad.

Davies was selected to start for Tottenham against Chelsea last night, but he had to be taken off in the first half of the contest.

The Welsh defender hurt his groin, and is now set for scans to assess the severity of the damage.

But Davies seemed in good spirits when asked if he thought the injury would keep him out for long.

“My groin is a bit sore, so I have to see how it is in the next couple of days. I don’t think it’s too bad,” Davies said.

If Davies can make it back to fitness quickly that will be good news for Tottenham, who are badly struggling with injuries right now.

Both Harry Kane and Dele Alli are on the treatment table, while Vincent Wanyama also remains out.

In Davies’ absence, Tottenham were unable to make it through in the League Cup last night.

Spurs went out to Chelsea on penalties, in what was a heartbreaking way to lose at Stamford Bridge.

Tottenham are next in action at the weekend, when they take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
