Davinson Sanchez may well be finished at Tottenham Hotspur after being snubbed in favour of Japhet Tanganga on Saturday.
Tottenham face AC Milan in the Champions League tonight and simply have to respond to Saturday’s defeat at Leicester City.
Defeat is probably being kind; Tottenham were pretty hopeless after taking a 1-0 lead at the King Power Stadium.
Rodrigo Bentancur’s opener was as good as it got with Nampalys Mendy, James Maddison, Kelechi Iheanacho and Harvey Barnes giving Leicester a 4-1 thrashing.
Bentancur’s major knee injury only made it worse for Tottenham and fans are expecting a big improvement tonight.
For Davinson Sanchez, Saturday’s defeat may be more than just terrible loss – it may be the real beginning of the end.

Writing is on the wall for Davinson Sanchez at Tottenham
Eyebrows were raised when the Tottenham teamsheet dropped at 2pm on Saturday.
Cristian Romero’s suspension meant changes were coming in Tottenham’s back line.
Yet rather than go with Sanchez, Tottenham decided to go with Japhet Tanganga on the right side of defence.
It’s fair to say this decision didn’t really work.
Sanchez was on the bench, so it’s not even like he was injured; Tanganga was just picked ahead of him.
That’s a damning situation for the Colombian and maybe an indication that his time at Tottenham is coming to an end.
Football London’s Alasdair Gold reported earlier this month that ‘Spurs were willing to let Lucas Moura and Davinson Sanchez go’ before the transfer deadline.
Sanchez is into the final 18 months of his contract and Tottenham were seemingly ready to cash in before his value drops.
A move didn’t materialise but with Tottenham seemingly having little interest in a new contract and Tanganga now being picked ahead of him, it’s hard to see Sanchez sticking around much longer.
Sanchez hasn’t quite lived up to his billing since arriving from Ajax in 2023 and it’s probably time for all parties to go their separate ways this summer.
Sanchez may be called up on between now and then but Saturday’s exclusion will leave many thinking that a sale is on the cards.
