The Bulgarian believes Tottenham’s summer signing can make it work in North London.
Tottenham Hotspur have been struggling without the presence of Harry Kane in the striking position in recent weeks. Spurs have been low on goals and summer signing Vincent Janssen is still to score from open play for the club.
His struggled have been well documented but he has received the backing of a former Tottenham striker.
Dimitar Berbatov scores the first goal for Tottenham Hotspur from the penalty spot
Dimitar Berbatov himself took time to fully settle into English football but once he did he became a star for Spurs and went on to score plenty of goals in North London.
He was speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live last night, before Tottenham lost 1-0 to another of the Bulgarian’s former clubs Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League. The 35-year-old had this to say on the Dutch international:
“You have come to a new environment and a different style of playing.

“I think he will take a bit of time to get used to his new team-mates, with the football, with everything. But I think he will be fine.
“I have been watching all the games when I can and I think he’s doing fine for the moment.”
Janssen scored plenty of goals at former club AZ Alkmaar and remains a starter for his country but it has been tough for him to find his best form at his new club.

However, the new Spurs striker is clearly backed by Berbatov to eventually settle into his new surroundings and for the goals to then follow.
If he can go on to achieve what Berbatov did at Spurs, then he will be an undoubted success.
