Tottenham star Cristian Romero is a World Cup finalist with Argentina and he has received huge praise from Rodrigo de Paul after his latest display.
Argentina faced Croatia in the semi-finals of the World Cup on Tuesday night and claimed a comfortable 3-0 win.
Lionel Messi opened the scoring from the penalty spot before Julian Alvarez scored twice to score a passage into the semi-finals.
Argentina will meet either France or Morocco in the final and Messi is just one game away from writing the most incredible story.
Messi’s supporting cast have really picked up in recent games though and Tottenham defender Romero is one of them.
Romero was shaky in the opening game against Saudi Arabia as he looked unfit following his recent injury situation at Tottenham.
Romero is now shining though and played a key role in Argentina keeping a clean sheet against Croatia.

Tottenham’s Cristian Romero hailed by Rodrigo De Paul
Spurs ace Romero took to Instagram after Argentina’s win to send an emotional message.
Romero stated that he is proud of the Argentina squad and they will continue to work hard until the very end.
Romero then received praise from a number of teammates with Lisandro Martinez, Emiliano Martinez and Guido Rodriguez offering congratulations and adulation.
There was also a message from Atletico Madrid midfielder Rodrigo De Paul, who started for Argentina against Croatia.
De Paul stated ‘how easy to play with you at the back’, hailing the Tottenham star for the security he provides the Argentina midfield.
That’s huge praise and the pair could have even been teammates at Tottenham too.
Tuttomercatoweb reported in July that Tottenham had made an approach to sign De Paul from Atletico Madrid.
De Paul chose to stay with Atletico but he is widely expected to leave in 2023.
It’s unclear whether Tottenham still hold that interest but Romero and De Paul may love the idea of joining forces at club level.
