Tottenham Hotspur could reportedly make a decent profit on Juan Foyth if everything goes well.

Spurs signed the central defender from Estudiantes in the summer of 2017 for a transfer fee reported by The Daily Mail to be worth £8 million.

The 22-year-old Argentina international has failed to establish himself as a regular in the starting lineup, and he seems to be heading out on loan.

According to Calciomercato, the Argentina international will join Villarreal on loan before the summer transfer window closes on Monday.

The Spanish club will pay Tottenham a loan fee of €1.5 million (£1.36 million) and will have the option to make the move permanent next summer for €15 million (£13.59 million), with a potential €3 million (£2.72 million) in bonuses, according to the report.

This means that if everything goes well, then Tottenham could get a total of €19.5 million (£17.67 million) for Foyth, which would mean a profit of £9.67 million.

That would be quite a good business for a fringe player, one who has been linked strongly with moves away this week.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona told the representatives of Foyth than they do not plan to sign him, while a report in Record has stated that Spurs tried to include the youngster in a deal to sign Carlos Vinicius from Benfica.
