If Tottenham Hotspur sell the pair this summer, then Daniel Levy will have to invest in his squad.

Tottenham Hotspur could leave themselves with no excuse but to spend big, if they sell both Toby Alderweireld and Danny Rose this summer.
The Guardian claim that Spurs want £53 million for Rose, while The Telegraph suggest that £55 million is their asking price for Toby Alderweireld.
And if Spurs do bring in £108 million from player sales then they will no longer have any excuse not to target big money additions.

Tottenham have generally looked around for bargain buys, rather than investing heavily.
But Daniel Levy will surely face more criticism than ever before, if he does sell Alderweireld and Rose, and then fails to invest the money back in Spurs’ squad.

Tottenham’s lack of depth has arguably been exposed this season, with the side falling just short in numerous competitions yet again.
And if Spurs really want to end their 10-year wait for a major trophy, they are going to need to spend, to compete with some of their major rivals in England and across Europe.
