Tottenham Hotspur’s midfield were outshone by Lucas Torreira at the weekend, but Mauricio Pochettino could be planning to make changes.

Tottenham Hotspur could have their very own version of Arsenal’s Lucas Torreira, if they sign Wilmar Barrios in January.
Barrios has been heavily linked with Spurs for months, with reports in Argentina (Crack Deportivo) suggesting that a deal has already been agreed.
Tottenham’s need for a new defensive midfielder was exposed at the weekend, during their contest with Arsenal.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men struggled to deal with Arsenal’s high-tempo football, with Eric Dier finding it difficult to protect Tottenham’s defence.
Torreira, on the other hand, was in brilliant form for Arsenal – as he cemented his place as a fans’ favourite at the Emirates Stadium.
Torreira has been in excellent form for Arsenal since joining, with his combative performances earning him great praise.
By signing Barrios Tottenham could have a very similar player to Torreira in their line-up though.

Barrios is a player who thrives off the physical battle, and absolutely loves a tackle.
The Colombian would add steel and energy to Tottenham’s midfield.
And Torreira’s performance for Arsenal should highlight Tottenham’s need for Barrios to join them in the second half of the season.
