Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in snapping up Ante Rebic, but his value is increasing by the game.

Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director Bruno Hubner’s comments to the Daily Mirror look like bad news for Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign Ante Rebic.

Tottenham have been linked with a £26 million move for the forward, who has been one of the stars of the World Cup so far for Croatia.

However, Hubner has confirmed that Frankfurt have increased their valuation of the forward, due to his glistening displays in Russia.

“Of course he has gained value through the German Cup and now value through the World Cup, he is now in focus for the big clubs,” Hubner said.

Tottenham now face paying more than they first anticipated for Rebic, and it remains to be seen whether they will keep up their interest, which was first reported in Bild.

Spurs are thought to be on the lookout for attacking additions, as Mauricio Pochettino aims to improve his forward options.

Rebic would offer Spurs pace and power on the break, but Daniel Levy has tended to look for bargains, so paying a premium price after the World Cup may not appeal.

If Rebic was to move to Tottenham he would be in competition with the likes of Heung-Min Son or Harry Kane for a first-team place.
