Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino’s transfer plans could give his side one of the strongest midfields in Europe.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Tottenham Hotspur are still interested in signing Donny van de Beek and Nicolo Zaniolo in what could turn out to be a remarkable summer.

Spurs are set to bring in Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon, with Mauricio Pochettino’s side prepared to break their transfer record on the French international.

Tottenham’s spending is not set to stop with Ndombele though, as Pochettino aims to bolster his midfield options considerably.

Tottenham still want Van de Beek and Zaniolo, and if they can get the pair then their midfield options will rival every team in Europe.

With Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko already at the club, Spurs could yet add Ndombele, Zaniolo and Van de Beek.

The quintet would give Pochettino one of the highest high quality midfield line-ups in the Premier League, and Tottenham would significantly close the gap to Liverpool and Manchester City.

Spurs were left short in midfield last term, but they will have an enviable list of options going forward if Pochettino’s plan comes off.

Pochettino called on Spurs to start acting differently in the transfer market last term if they wanted to kick on to the next level.

And their plans to snap up three brilliant midfielders this summer suggest that Tottenham have listened to their manager’s words.
