Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a move for Giovanni Simeone.

Tottenham Hotspur are considering a move for Genoa striker Giovanni Simeone, according to The Mirror.

The 22-year-old is better known as the son of Argentine legend and villain Diego Simeone, who was a teammate of Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Spurs have not yet made a move for the striker, but he is on their radar after a season in Serie A in which he struck 12 goals last season.

Genoa are looking for a big fee for the forward, with Tuttosport reporting earlier this month they are demanding 20 million Euros – £18 million.

Fiorentina and Torino are among the Serie A sides interested in his signature.

The fee would be a tidy profit for Genoa to make on Simeone, considering the low fee they paid last summer.

Tuttosport reported a year ago they paid only 3 million Euros – £2.7m – to win the race to sign him from River Plate.

The 22-year-old fits the profile of player in terms of age and development who may be prepared to sit behind and learn from main striker Harry Kane at Spurs.

£18 million may seem quite steep for a player with only one season in European football, and Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy would do well to knock it down by a third if he can.
