Roy Keane has raved about Chelsea central defender and reported Tottenham Hotspur target Antonio Rudiger on Sky Sports Premier League (7:26pm, April 28, 2022).

The Manchester United legend has said that Rudiger, linked with a move to Antonio Conte’s Tottenham in the summer transfer window, is a brilliant footballer and has been superb for Chelsea this season.

Keane made the comments about the Germany international centre-back ahead of the Premier League game between Manchester United and Chelsea on Thursday evening.

Sport reported this month that Tottenham head coach Conte wants to sign Rudiger and will meet with the 29-year-old in a last-ditch attempt to convince him to move to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the summer transfer window.

We covered the report here on HITC Sport.

However, there is speculation that the defender is close to joining Real Madrid on a free transfer.

Keane said about Rudiger on Sky Sports Premier League (7:26pm, April 28, 2022): “Huge loss obviously for what he does on the football pitch. Big character, very, very good player, of course. He has been outstanding this season.”

Antonio Rudiger would make Tottenham better

In our opinion, Rudiger would make Tottenham better and enhance the North London club’s chances of finishing in the top four of the Premier League table next season.

The 29-year-old is at the top of his game at the moment and has been a big success in the Premier League with Chelsea.

Now, we do not think that Tottenham will find it easy to sign Rudiger on a free transfer even if there is any last-minute problem in a potential deal with Madrid.

However, in our view, if Tottenham sign Rudiger, then it would be a coup, especially given the rivalry between Chelsea and Spurs.
