The French captain will be playing with the Gunner during the international break.
Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has been singing the praises of one of his defensive team-mates this week.
But the Spurs captain was not talking about a team-mate at White Hart Lane, but rather one with Les Bleus.
Lucas Digne, Laurent Koscielny and Hugo Lloris line up before the game
The only down side to this however is that he happens to be an Arsenal player. Lloris has been lavishing praise on the Gunners defender Laurent Koscielny this week. He told a press conference for the French national team, as reported by Get French Football News:
Arsenal’s Laurent Koscielny (L) checks on Tottenham Hotspur’s Hugo Lloris after he was injured
“The Euros helped Laurent to go to another level. Like a fair amount of players.
“He is showing confidence, he is calm, thoughtful and important in the life of this squad. Every weekend, he shows he is at the level of some of the greatest European defenders, and even in the world.”
Of course the pair are enemies on the football pitch in the Premier League, with Arsenal and Spurs the worst of North London rivals.
France’s Laurent Koscielny heads at goal
But playing for France the duo need to work together as two of the key players in Didier Deschamps’ side.
Lloris, as the captain of his nation, certainly has to keep his relations with the Arsenal defender good whilst playing for his country but this extends beyond common courtesy.
The Spurs goalkeeper is clearly a big fan of the Arsenal man and is happy to have him in front of him for his country.
