Tottenham Hotspur could face a fight to keep Hugo Lloris.

Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris celebrates during the Premier League match between Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United at Wembley Stadium on May 9, 2018 in London, England.

Real Madrid interest in Hugo Lloris has a familiar feel for Tottenham Hotspur as the Spanish side eye up another of their players.

Following recent links to Harry Kane and Kieran Trippier, The Sun report Lloris has caught their attention and Real are considering making a £60 million bid.

Lloris had a mixed season for Spurs but it ended on a real high, lifting the World Cup with France.

He returns to Spurs shortly as a World Cup winner, a jewel in the Tottenham ranks, a reason for the club to be proud.

For Tottenham to now sell him would send a terrible message, that any of their stars are attainable.

The other side of the argument is that now may be the best time to cash in on Lloris, from a business sense, while his stock is at his highest.

Fans may worry that this appeals to chairman Daniel Levy, a savvy businessman.

Tottenham need to forget selling high if a bid comes in, and focus on what Lloris means to the club, and his teammates.

To sell a club icon would send the wrong message to the current set of players, and to other clubs, signalling once again that Tottenham’s top stars are available at the right price.
