Tottenham Hotspur will surely secure at least one sale this summer with defender Joe Rodon continuing to shine on loan at Leeds United.

Tottenham have already made a start on their summer transfer business, even with the January window only just gone.

Swedish midfielder Lucas Bergvall will be arriving from Djurgarden in the summer with the 18-year-old snubbing Barcelona for Spurs.

That’s an exciting move for Tottenham and we will surely see further additions to shape Ange Postecoglou’s squad – especially if Spurs qualify for the Champions League.

Tottenham will need to offload some players as well though, and one player looks destined to land a permanent move away from Spurs.

Joe Rodon surely leaving Tottenham after shining for Leeds United

Whilst the futures of loanees such as Djed Spence, Japhet Tanganga, Tanguy Ndombele and Sergio Reguilon remain somewhat unclear, one loaned-out Tottenham misfit is shining.

Defender Joe Rodon is spending this season on loan at Leeds United in the Championship, aiming to help them win promotion back to the Premier League.

The Welshman joined Tottenham for around £11million rising to £15million in 2020, having impressed with Swansea City.

Rodon has only managed 15 Premier League appearances for Spurs though and spent last season on loan in France with Rennes.

Postecoglou decided to let Rodon move on in August and it looks like he simply won’t have a future at Tottenham with the likes of Cristian RomeroMicky van de Ven and Radu Dragusin at the club.

The positive for Spurs is that, whilst other loanees have endured mixed seasons, Rodon has been exceptional.

The 26-year-old has racked up 28 Championship appearances this season and has proven himself to be a warrior in the Leeds back line.

Rodon has been hailed as ‘terrific’ by Tottenham defender and Wales teammate Ben Davies and he has played his way into the shop window this season.

If Leeds secure promotion back to the Premier League, they will surely focus on signing Rodon permanently having impressed so much for the Whites.

There will surely be rival interest whether or not Leeds go up with Rodon playing so well and Tottenham can surely count on a sale this summer.

Rodon’s deal ends in 2025 and this summer seems to be the right time for Tottenham to cash in; fortunately, Rodon is making himself impossible to ignore at Leeds and Spurs will likely receive plenty of interest.
