Tottenham Hotspur’s director of football Fabio Paratici was expected to watch Nottingham Forest duo Djed Spence and Brennan Johnson on Sunday.
That’s according to Football London’s Alasdair Gold, who was speaking about Paratici’s scouting mission on YouTube.
Gold claims he had been told from multiple sources that Paratici was expected at the City Ground to form his own opinions on Spence and Johnson.
“I understand, I’ve heard from a couple of people, that Paratici is expected to be at the match, or was planning, certainly, to be at the match,” said Gold. “And I believe he’s having a closer look at Djed Spence, the right wing back, who Spurs have had a bit of an interest in for a while, and also young Brennan Johnson, the attacking midfielder who has done very well this season, so just keep an eye on both of those,” he added.
Forest hosted East Midlands rivals Leicester City in the FA Cup and demolished them with a stunning 4-1 home win.
Johnson bagged the second goal for Forest with Spence rounding off the scoring by adding the fourth with a beautiful finish.
ESPN claimed on deadline day that Tottenham had actually made two bids for Spence, who is on loan at Forest from Middlesbrough.
The 21-year-old hails from London and could be tempted back to the capital with Tottenham desperate for another right wing back option.
Spence has excelled in that role for Forest this season and has huge untapped potential. Middlesbrough are probably giddy at the prospect of cashing in on Spence, given that they had no plans for him this season.
The problem for Tottenham is that Arsenal also want Spence according to Goal, meaning there could be a real battle for his signature.

As for Johnson, the homegrown Forest ace has come through the ranks and is now enjoying a superb season.
In 29 Championship games this term, Johnson – who can play on either flank or as a number 10 – has bagged seven goals and five assists.
Johnson terrorised Arsenal’s Nuno Tavares in the FA Cup last month and looks destined for the Premier League; whether Forest go up or not.
Again though, Tottenham face competition for Johnson. The Independent claim that Newcastle want to sign the Welsh youngster too.
It’s now over to Paratici to decide, but he was surely impressed with both players as they dismantled Leicester and were branded ‘absolutely brilliant’ by Gary Lineker.
