Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino says he is already focusing fully on Tottenham’s next fixture and cannot enjoy their big win over Stoke City.

Spurs snapped an unwanted streak of four Premier League games without a win, in which they had collected just two points from a possible 12.

They did so in spectacular fashion, beating Stoke 5-1 at Wembley.

Pochettino is not getting wrapped up in the emotions of the win, telling the club’s official website he is already plotting for a similar result against Brighton and Hove Albion in midweek.

He said: “It was so important to get the three points. I’m very pleased and now we keep going and prepare for Wednesday because tomorrow we start again.

“It’s difficult to enjoy too much…as a coaching team we cannot stop to enjoy, we always think about helping the team to be ready to compete again.”

The early goal – an own goal from Ryan Shawcross – gave Spurs a welcome lead which stopped the Wembley nerves from building which have affected them against ‘smaller teams’.

Harry Kane was back amongst the goals, scoring twice, and Christian Eriksen was also in inspired form.

Another repeat against Brighton in midweek is much needed – but Pochettino won’t be able to enjoy that for long either, if at all – as they take on Manchester City next Saturday.
