Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has been linked with a big money move to Real Madrid.

Mauricio Pochettino has played down rumours linking Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane with Real Madrid in an interview with AS Sport.

Kane has recently been linked with a move to Madrid in the Spanish press, with Zinedine Zidane’s side said to be tracking the 24-year-old forward.

Kane has impressed the footballing world with his form this season, which has seen him net 11 goals in 10 matches to date.

But Pochettino insists that Kane is more than happy at Spurs, and wants to become a hero at the club he grew up supporting.

“He really takes it in his stride,” Pochettino said. “Harry is a really mature lad, he sees things really clearly. His dream is to do something big at Tottenham, the club he’s a fan of. If the big teams recognise your work, and you’re in the press, all that does is to encourage you to carry on doing what you chose to do.

“He is an exceptional person, a humble lad, with great values, very human values. It’s a pleasure to coach a player like that because he makes your life very easy.”

Kane will have a chance to show Madrid his ability first-hand in midweek, as Spurs meet the La Liga champions in European competition.

Tottenham are set to travel to the Bernabeu to face arguably the toughest test in world football.

Madrid boast a hugely impressive home record, and Tottenham will view any point they can bring back to England as a positive result.

Spurs head into their match with Madrid having gone unbeaten in their last nine games across all competitions.
