Tottenham Hotspur’s Kyle Walker recently said that Mauricio Pochettino’s training sessions are easier than last season.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has said at his latest press conference, which was broadcast by Press Bureau TV’s Youtube channel, that Kyle Walker’s comments about his training sessions being less harsh are not entirely correct.
Walker recently stated to the Daily Mirror that Spurs were not being pushed in training quite as much as they were last campaign, as Pochettino looks to avoid burnout.
The claim from the right-back comes as a surprise, as Pochettino has always been renowned for his demanding style.
But Pochettino insists that he is not going easy on Spurs’ players, and Walker may have formed his opinion as he feels so fit.
“I think it’s an individual perception from the player. From day one we have a plan. We try and push the players individually and collectively,” he said, in reaction to Walker’s comments.
“Maybe his perception is because he wasn’t involved too much in training, for personal problem before Liverpool, because he got a virus, and today he was off. Maybe he got this perception because he is very fresh.”
Tottenham appeared to burn out last season, as they finished the campaign weakly and dropped down to third place.
Spurs are determined to finish the season strongly this time around, as they look to protect their place in the top four.
Tottenham are currently in third place in the Premier League table, but have a number of teams breathing down their neck.
Spurs are also competing in the FA Cup and the Europa League, as they look to bring some silverware back to White Hart Lane.
Spurs are next in action this evening, when they take on Gent at Wembley.
