Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen picked up a slight injury problem last night, although it is not expected to be serious.

Spurs cruised to success against Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League yesterday, as they picked up a much needed victory for confidence.
Tottenham’s dominated so much that Pochettino was able to bring on both Juan Foyth and Giovani Lo Celso, as they step up their returns from injury.
But Pochettino admits that Foyth’s substitution wasn’t pre-planned, as Vertonghen actually picked up a knock.
And although Spurs do not expect the injury to be serious, they did not want to take a risk with the Belgian.
“I think the future is the squad that we have. It’s only that for different reasons we finished today in this way,” Pochettino said. “Jan felt a little problem, not really a problem, but we didn’t want to risk him to continue playing.”
It may be that Vertonghen has a new defensive partner in Davinson Sanchez now, with Toby Alderweireld missing out yesterday.

Alderweireld has struggled this season, with his Spurs future still up in the air, following his failure to sign a new contract.
The Belgian was not even in Tottenham’s match day squad yesterday, with Pochettino seemingly intent on making changes to his side after their difficult start to the season.
Spurs are next in action against Liverpool, when they will hope to build on the momentum gained from last night’s success.
