Tottenham Hotspur ran out 2-1 winners against Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has told the Gazette that he was surprised by the quality of Middlesbrough’s fans.
Spurs ran out 2-1 winners at the Riverside Stadium yesterday, but Pochettino’s side did not have it all their own way.
And Pochettino has praised the way that Boro fans supported their side throughout the contest.

He said: “Outside of White Hart Lane, it’s the best atmosphere I’ve experienced in the Premier League in one stadium.
“They had fantastic supporters, it surprised me how warm their fans were.”
Tottenham had managed to establish a two-goal lead in the match, when Heung Min-Son lashed in a brace.

The in-form attacker first finished well after being teed up by Vincent Janssen, before he lashed in a belter from the edge of the area.
At that stage it seemed as if Spurs would pick up a comfortable victory, but Boro fans urged their side on and saw an improvement.
Aitor Karanka’s men dragged themselves back into the contest when Ben Gibson scored in the second-half, but they could not break down a resolute Spurs defence again, as they slipped to a defeat.
