Tottenham Hotspur progressed to the next round of the Carabao Cup by beating Watford last night.

Spurs just about edged past Watford in the Carabao Cup, with Gazzaniga the hero of the night.
The Argentine stopper saved two penalties from Watford in the shoot-out, after his side had played out a 2-2 draw with Javi Gracia’s men.
And Pochettino said: “I think he was fantastic and then he showed his character in the penalites. We believe in him and have a lot of faith in him and now it is a special period of course.”
Gazzaniga may well have overtaken Michel Vorm in the pecking order for places at Spurs now.

Vorm and Gazzaniga are fighting it out to be Tottenham’s number one, with Hugo Lloris out injured.
Lloris is expected to be out for a few weeks yet, so Gazzaniga could now have a run of starts coming his way.
Vorm has looked shaky whenever he has been picked this season, and Pochettino may well now believe that Gazzaniga is the better option.
Tottenham are next in action at the weekend, when they take on Huddersfield Town.
