The Spurs boss bemoans his side’s growing injury list.
Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino was left frustrated by Spurs’ injury problems as The Lilywhites were held to a 1-1 draw with Premier League holders Leicester City at White Hart Lane, as quoted by BBC Sport.
Speaking in his post-match interview, the Argentine spoke of his growing disappointment of his side continuing to be without key men as Tottenham dropped points for the third successive week.
Pochettino told BBC Sport: “We created chances, we dominate the game but you know I have to be disappointed with the way we conceded the goal [as it] was the only shot on target that we conceded. It’s hard.”
Spurs were without up to four members of the starting XI in North London, with their talismanic centre-back Toby Alderweireld still absent with a knee injury and Harry Kane still not fully fit after ligament damage.
Erik Lamela was also out with an illness, whilst Moussa Sissoko began his three-match suspension for elbowing Bournemouth’s Harry Arter.
Pochettino’s men have now taken just three points out of a possible nine, as they lose ground on table-toppers Arsenal and Manchester City who both won handsomely on Saturday.
Vincent Janssen scored his first league goal for the club since joining from Ajax in the summer from the penalty spot, as the Dutchman continues to deputise for Kane.
On missing his still-absent star man, Pochettino continued: “Always, we miss all the players because it’s important that all players will be fit to try to select.”
“We have some players injured. It is always difficult.”
Tottenham now entertain Bayer Leverkusen in the UEFA Champions League, before making the trip to N5 for the North London derby with an in-form Arsenal, next Sunday lunchtime.
