Tottenham Hotspur are set to take on Liverpool in the EFL Cup later this evening.
Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has told the Daily Mail that he is a huge fan of the squad which Jurgen Klopp has assembled at Liverpool.
The Reds have started the new campaign in excellent form, and Liverpool are now the second favourites with the bookies’ to lift the Premier League title.
Pochettino concedes that Liverpool are certainly a threat this season, and he is expecting a tough test when he takes his Spurs side to Anfield later this evening.
“For me Liverpool have one of the best squads in the Premier League,” Pochettino said, ahead of Spurs’ EFL Cup tie with the Reds later this evening.
“After the summer, they have improved a lot by signing very good players and investing a lot of money. In the way they play, they are very aggressive. Liverpool are one of the contenders to win the league.”
Both Liverpool and Spurs are expected to make changes to their line-ups this evening, with the Premier League remaining a priority for the pair.
Liverpool and Tottenham have been two of the outstanding teams in England over the early part of the campaign, and they are within touching distance of league leaders Manchester City.
Liverpool are currently in third place in the Premier League, but they are only behind City on goal difference.
Spurs are just one point further back, and they head into the cup clash this evening as the only top flight team still protecting an unbeaten record in domestic action this term.
