Christian Eriksen is out of contract at Tottenham Hotspur next summer.
The Daily Mail has claimed that Pochettino and Levy discussed the future of Eriksen on Thursday.
The report has also claimed that Spurs have decided to sell the attacking midfielder in the summer transfer window should a bid of £50 million or more is made.
Spurs boss Pochettino has suggested that with the 27-year-old’s current contract running out next summer, the North London outfit are in a difficult situation.
Pochettino told The Daily Mail about Eriksen: “It’s not in a good place. It’s not the best situation for him, for everyone. It is not what I think the club or the player expect to be. A difficult situation for both sides.”
The Tottenham boss added: “Always I am open to help the club and to help the decision of Daniel. Of course my door is always open for him to come and to ask or to help in the decision.
“I know really well that decisions like this are not easy, but I always try to be in the position to take the best benefit for the club. And of course for the player too, because it’s two interests.”
Big mistake?
Eriksen is one of the best and most creative midfielders in Europe, and selling him now will be a mistake from Spurs.
True, Spurs signed Giovani Lo Celso on loan from Real Betis in the summer transfer window, but the 23-year-old could take a while to adapt to the Premier League and is not yet ready to replace Eriksen in the team.
