Dele Alli was sent off during Tottenham Hotspur’s Europa League tie against Gent.
Mauricio Pochettino has admitted to Football.London that he has had a private conversation with Tottenham Hotspur’s Dele Alli following his red card in the Europa League last Thursday.
Alli was shown his marching orders after lunging into a terrible tackle against Gent.
The 20-year-old’s red card was arguably one of the main reasons why Spurs did not progress on the night.
Tottenham dominated the contest, even with 10 men, but they could not manage to overturn the 1-0 deficit at Wembley.
In the end Spurs drew the game 2-2, and Alli was highly disappointed with his own conduct in the match.

However, Pochettino insists that all is forgiven for the attacking midfielder, and he has simply encouraged Alli over the past few days.
“I think that we should keep private our conversations but you can imagine, I gave love, more love than normal,” said the Spurs boss. “He is very mature. He showed today a big maturity.
“I am very happy for him because he was very sad, very disappointed. He is only 20 years old and I would always protect and support him.”
Alli showed his quality on the field during Tottenham’s 4-0 win over Stoke City yesterday.
The former MK Dons man scored Tottenham’s fourth goal, as Pochettino’s side cruised to three points against the Potters.
