Jose Mourinho has told Sky Sports that he felt Tottenham Hotspur kept Arsenal duo Kieran Tierney and Hector Bellerin very quiet yesterday.
Spurs picked up a 2-1 win in the North London derby, with Arsenal struggling to deal with Mourinho’s tactical switches.
The Portuguese boss opted to line-up in a 4-4-2 system, and that change seemed to limit the effectiveness of Arsenal’s full-backs.
Tierney and Bellerin have both caught the eye in recent weeks, but neither of the pair were able to provide much service to Arsenal’s strikers yesterday.
And Mourinho admits that was proud of the way his Tottenham side dealt with Arsenal’s attacking threat.
“I think the game was more tactical than anything,” he said.
“I think Mikel found a way for them to improve. We felt we should adapt slightly to them and I think we did it very well.
“How many times do Tierney and Bellerin normally reach the last third? How well they were controlled today. We were very dominant at that level.”

Tottenham scored their goals against Arsenal through Heung-Min Son and Toby Alderweireld.
Spurs had fallen behind when Alexandre Lacazette scored a belter, but they were largely untroubled otherwise, as they put in a much improved display.
Tottenham have now moved back ahead of Arsenal in the table, and Mourinho has relieved some of the pressure building on him.
