Ben Davies has praised Marcus Edwards as the Sporting winger prepares for a return to take on Tottenham Hotspur.
There is just no rest for Tottenham right now as they are in action once again on Wednesday.
Sporting visit North London in the Champions League with both sides needing a win to aid their hopes of qualification through the group stage.
Sporting beat Tottenham 2-0 in their first meeting last month and Spurs must come up with a better performance here – especially after defeats to Manchester United and Newcastle United.

Ben Davies has praised Marcus Edwards
This game also means a return to Tottenham for Marcus Edwards.
The winger came up through Tottenham’s ranks and was predicted to become a superstar.
Mauricio Pochettino made a comparison to Lionel Messi and, if we’re being honest, that probably became an albatross around Edwards’ neck.
After disappointing loan spells with Norwich City and Excelsior, Tottenham sold Edwards to Vitoria de Guimaraes in Portugal.
That’s where Edwards really kicked on, racking up 20 goals and 14 assists in 96 appearances for Vitoria.
Sporting pounced to sign Edwards in January of this year, and the early results have been strong with seven goals and eight assists.
Edwards started against Tottenham in their Champions League meeting last month and certainly impressed with some dazzling dribbling ability.
This is the first game Edwards will have played against Tottenham in North London though and the 23-year-old has now been praised.
Tottenham defender Ben Davies will have seen Edwards’ short-lived rise at Spurs and knows all about his quality.
Davies has told Football London that he thinks Edwards is ‘very good’ and is expecting a tough game against the Sporting star.
Davies added that he thinks Edwards has a ‘bright future’ ahead of him, with some Tottenham fans maybe still hoping that there is a future at Spurs for him one day.
“Marcus is a very good player. Very direct, quick in situations. It will be a tough game against him. He’s got a bright future ahead of him,” said Davies.
