Guillem Balague has reported on BBC Sport that Barcelona will sell Clement Lenglet, amid reported interest from Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur.
The well-known and well-respected Spanish football journalist has said that Lenglet is among a number of players Barcelona are willing to sell to bring in a big name in the summer of 2022.
According to journalist Gerard Romero on Twitch in December 2021, Tottenham are interested in signing Lenglet from Barcelona.
We covered the report here on HITC Sport at the time.
Balague told BBC Sport: “Laporta is selling a hopeful future. He’s trying to imply they are up for getting any of the big players and Haaland is possible, very possible.
“How do they get Haaland? They get rid of a bunch of players and Philippe Coutinho, Samuel Umtiti, Sergino Dest, Clement Lenglet, Frenkie de Jong, Martin Braithwaite, Oscar Mingueza, Luuk de Jong are for sale and then they’re able to bring in someone. It’s complicated, but not impossible.”

Encouraging for Tottenham in Clement Lenglet quest
In our view, Balague’s claim that Barcelona are willing to sell Lenglet is very encouraging for Tottenham.
Football London have reported that Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte is looking for a left-sided centre-back.
Lenglet is struggling for playing time at Barcelona at the moment.
The 26-year-old central defender has made four starts and six substitute appearances in La Liga so far this season.
The France international has played four times in the Champions League.
In our opinion, Lenglet could be wiling to leave Barcelona for Tottenham if he gets more playing time.
And, if Barcelona are willing to sell the defender, then Tottenham should at least make a move and see what happens.
