Pape Cheikh Diop has yet not had a chance to prove Tottenham wrong.

As Tottenham Hotspur belatedly kicked their transfer business into gear in August, Pape Cheikh Diop was a player who was prominently linked.
SkySports reported Spurs were holding talks with Celta Vigo over signing the 20-year-old Spaniard.
In the end they backed off Diop, who was sold to Lyon instead for 15 million Euros (£13.7m).

With multiple midfield options already including the excellent Harry Winks, Diop was not a player Tottenham desperately needed, and there was no urgent need to bring him in.
Their decision also looks good due to his unfortunate start to his Lyon career.
Diop picked up an ankle injury soon after joining, and has not yet made a single appearance for the club.
He is hoping to make a recovery later this month and earn his first call-up to their squad.
Then he will be able to begin showing why Lyon spent the money on him and perhaps even prove Tottenham wrong – but at this stage he has a long way to go.
