Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur have joined Everton and Arsenal in the race for Aston Villa central midfielder Douglas Luiz, according to The Daily Mail.
The Dally Mail have reported that Tottenham are planning to make a bid of £32 million for the former Manchester City defender.
This means competition for Everton and Arsenal in their quest to sign the 23-year-old Brazil international.
Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol said on Sky Sports’ The Transfer Show (January 28, 2021) that Everton are looking to sign Luiz from Premier League rivals this month.
Earlier this week, 90min reported that Arsenal and Manchester City are interested in the 23-year-old Brazil international central midfielder, who was described as “unbelievable” by then Villa manager Dean Smith in The Birmingham Mail in June 2020.

Could Tottenham Hotspur sign Douglas Luiz?
In our view, Tottenham are going to find it hard to sign Luiz from Villa in the January transfer window.
The North London outfit may be willing to pay £32 million, but Villa are an established club in the Premier League who are not desperate for cash.
Moreover, we have to question whether the Villans would be willing to sell as important a player as Luiz in the middle of the season.
In our opinion, Luiz’s decision will play a big role in a potential transfer.
If the Brazilian wants to join Tottenham and Spurs are willing to pay what Villa want for him, then a transfer could happen.
