Inter Milan midfielder Arturo Vidal appears to be a target for Tottenham Hotspur – and he certainly impressed against Liverpool on Tuesday night.
Inter beat Liverpool 1-0 at Anfield on Tuesday with Lautaro Martinez smashing a long-range strike into the top corner of Alisson’s goal.
Sadly for Inter, that wasn’t enough to overturn a 2-0 first-leg deficit, with Liverpool advancing into the last eight of the Champions League.
Inter equipped themselves well at Anfield and a number of players impressed, with Vidal certainly shining in midfield.
The Chilean ace was a constant menace in midfield, breaking up play brilliantly whilst hassling Liverpool at every opportunity.
It’s almost like Vidal was a key player for Chile under Marcelo Bielsa or something.
Vidal recorded four tackles, three clearances, two interceptions, one blocked shot and one key pass in an all-action performance.
Vidal was so good that BT Sport’s Darren Fletcher and Lucy Ward both hailed his performance (08/03, 9:23pm) for Inter.
“Vidal’s been outstanding, hasn’t he?” said commentator Fletcher.
“He’s everywhere, Vidal – he has to work as hard as that, particularly as the game gets more open,” added analyst Ward, with both dazzled by Vidal.
This has to be of interest to Tottenham Hotspur, who are allegedly interested in luring Vidal to North London.

Vidal worked under Tottenham boss Antonio Conte at Inter last season, winning the Serie A title in a great season together.
The pair also worked together at Juventus and there are now rumours surrounding a potential reunion at Tottenham.
La Tercera in Chile claim that Conte has already spoken to Vidal’s representatives to try and thrash out a summer transfer.
Vidal is a little past his best at 34, but he showed on Tuesday night that he can still pose a real problem to the Premier League’s elite.
Conte was surely watching that display, and it may only reinforce his desire to bring Vidal to Tottenham this summer.
