Crystal Palace hotshot Wilfried Zaha is going to be one of the main talking points during the summer transfer window, with Tottenham and Arsenal seemingly keen on his services.

The Mirror recently claimed that Tottenham are once again targetting Zaha this summer, with 26-year-old enjoying a strong season at Selhurst Park last time out.

Added with that, the Daily Mail have also claimed that Palace have slapped a £100 million price tag on Zaha’s shoulders, with Arsenal also keen to add him to their ranks, as they seem to be in the driving seat for his signature.

Given the money that is being touted for the versatile attacker, both Tottenham and Arsenal would be daft to pay that sort of money for Zaha and they should stay well clear.

There’s no doubt that Zaha is ready for a step-up, and that to a team in Europe. But at the price Palace want him for, he isn’t that proven in England’s top-flight for him to be worth that fee, even in this inflated market.

During the recently concluded campaign, Zaha scored 10 goals and supplied the same amount of assists [transfermerkt] for his teammates.

Whilst those numbers are very healthy and strong, especially for a defensive-minded team that finished in the bottom half last season, it’s not worth the money being touted about.

Both Spurs and Arsenal are in need of fresh faces, but they are not that desperate for attacking options. If the Gunners are going to overpay for a player, they need to do it for a defender.

Whilst their neighbours need to be concentrating on strengthing their whole squad, rather than splashing a serious amounts of money on one player.

Zaha has the qualities to play for a top-six club, but the reported fee for him should surely be off-putting for the parties keen on his services?
