Inter Milan want Piero Hincapie but they think he is ‘unattainable’ because there are already talks ongoing over a move to Tottenham Hotspur.

That’s according to Tuttomercatoweb, who claim that Inter would like to bring Bayer Leverkusen defender Hincapie to Italy.

Inter seemingly fear losing Alessandro Bastoni and are eyeing up left-footed centre backs like HIncapie.

However, it’s stated that Hincapie is viewed as unattainable for Inter because Tottenham are already chasing him.

It’s claimed that Tottenham have started discussions to sign Leverkusen defender Hincapie for around €35million (£31million).

Tottenham also want a left-footed centre back with loanee Clement Lenglet set to return to Barcelona at the end of the season.

Ben Davies isn’t the long-term solution in that role so Tottenham need to have a target in mind, somebody like Hincapie.

Who is Tottenham target Piero Hincapie?

Hincapie emerged in Ecuador with Independiente del Valle – the same club who produced Brighton and Hove Albion midfield maestro Moises Caicedo.

After just three appearances for the club, Hincapie was snapped up by Argentinian side Talleres.

HIncapie’s unbelievable rise continued as he made just 22 appearances for Talleres before Bayer Leverkusen swooped to sign him.

Now into his third season as a Leverkusen player, Hincapie has garnered a reputation as one of the top young left-sided defenders in the game.

Whilst Hincapie isn’t the tallest centre back at just 6ft tall, he is quick and confident on the ball when play out from the back.

That’s what Tottenham are looking for in order to play Antonio Conte’s 3-4-3 system effectively.

£31million isn’t cheap for a player with just 57 league appearances to his name in his career, but Hincapie is an ascending talent and Inter may well think he could be heading for North London this year.
