Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte will want new signings in 2022 – and he could finally sign his long-term target Franck Kessie.
Conte took over as Tottenham boss last week and has opened with a win over Vitesse Arnhem and a draw at Everton.
The Italian’s immediate job will be to get the most out of the current Tottenham squad at his disposal.
In the long-term though, Conte will want big signings. You have to assume that he was promised major money to spend in the future.
One of the first rumours about an incoming signing surrounds Franck Kessie.
Sport Mediaset reported last week that Conte has given Tottenham a list of targets – and Kessie is on it.
Gazzetta Dello Sport have added that Tottenham are in advanced talks to sign Kessie on a free transfer.
The Ivorian midfielder is out of contract at the end of the season and can sign a pre-contract agreement in January.

A quality box-to-box midfield player, Kessie would be an amazing capture anyway, but on a free transfer? That could be incredible.
Conte would be particularly delighted given that he wanted to sign Kessie at Chelsea.
The Guardian noted in December 2016 that Chelsea offered €25million (£21.5million) to sign Kessie as Conte chased a deal.
Almost five years on, Kessie could be heading to Tottenham for free – and that would be some way to back Conte.
