Tottenham Hotspur look set to appoint Antonio Conte as their new manager, and Gian Piero Gasperini has backed him for success in North London.
Tottenham parted ways with Nuno Espirito Santo after just a matter of months in charge of the club.
Saturday’s 3-0 defeat to Manchester United has proven to be Nuno’s final game at Tottenham.
Tottenham are wasting no time though. Gianluca Di Marzio claims that Antonio Conte will be in London today to sign a deal until 2023.
After missing out in the summer, it looks like Tottenham will finally land Conte after all.
This is a huge coup for Tottenham given that Conte has won the league title with Juventus, Chelsea and Inter Milan.
Fans will be hoping that Conte brings silverware to Tottenham too, with this move a real signal of intent from Daniel Levy.

Gasperini backs Conte for Tottenham success
Some will remember that Conte isn’t the only Italian manager Tottenham have targeted this year.
Corriere della Sera reported in May that Tottenham wanted Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini. However, he chose to stay with Atalanta.
Now, Gasperini has commented on Conte’s seemingly imminent move to Tottenham.
Gasperini has told Tuttomercatoweb that he is happy for Conte, predicting that he will do an ‘excellent job’ at Tottenham – as he always does.
“I’m happy for Antonio, if he goes there he has achieved what he hoped for. He will do an excellent job as always, he’s a great one,” said Gasperini.
