Tottenham Hotspur’s new manager Antonio Conte has been watching the club’s Amazon documentary series ‘All or Nothing’ to learn more about his new players.
That’s according to the Daily Telegraph, who claim that Conte really looked into the series after initially turning Tottenham down.
Conte rejected Tottenham in the summer but may have had an inkling that they would be back for him.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s brief spell in charge ended on Monday and, sure enough, Tottenham were back in with a new move for Conte.
It now seems that Conte knows plenty about his squad already having studied Tottenham’s Amazon series.
It seems surprising that Conte went to such lengths to study a club he wasn’t going to join.
Maybe Conte simply knew that it wasn’t the right time to join Tottenham then, but now is much better for him.
The decision has certainly paid off now though, as he will be somewhat better-prepared for the role now than if he had taken it without watching the series.
Some players featured in that series have moved on, such as Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen and Danny Rose.
Jose Mourinho struggled to get through to some players in that documentary series and will now be met with an intense character in Conte.
The Italian will want Tottenham working incredibly hard, and some will remember Mourinho branding Dele Alli ‘lazy’ at one point in that series.
That won’t fly under Conte, who has done his research and will come in with some early ideas about his Tottenham players.
