Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur and Unai Emery’s Aston Villa are among the clubs linked with Wilfred Ndidi.

According to TEAMtalk, Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Brentford all are interested in signing Wilfred Ndidi from Leicester City in the January transfer window.

The report has claimed that Tottenham, Villa, Newcastle and Brentford all are considering making bids for Ndidi in January.

Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Lyon and AS Monaco are also keen on the 26-year-old defensive midfielder.

TEAMtalk has noted that Ndidi is out of contract at Leicester at the end of the season, adding that the former Premier League champions are working hard to convince him to put pen to paper on a new deal.

Villa were linked with the midfielder when Steven Gerrard was in charge of the club.

Leicester are playing in the Championship this season after getting relegated from the Premier League at the end of the last campaign.

The Foxes are doing extremely well at the moment and look like they could win automatic promotion with ease.

My View: January transfer unlikely

I do not think that Tottenham Hotspur or Aston Villa would be able to sign Wilfred Ndidi from Leicester City in the January transfer window.

In my view, Leicester are not going to sell the Nigeria international defensive midfielder in the middle of the season.

After all, the Foxes are aiming to win promotion back to the Premier League.

So, why would they let go of one of their best and most important players in the middle of the season?

True, as things stand, Ndidi is out of contract in the summer of 2024, but losing him on a free transfer is still a better option than selling him in January and then not winning promotion to the Premier League.

Ndidi has made nine starts and three substitute appearances in the Championship for Leicester this season.

The 26-year-old has scored one goal and given three assists in those games.
