Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly planning a move for AC Milan’s Alessio Romagnoli – and he looks set for the San Siro exit door as things stand.

90Min reported late in December that Tottenham are planning an official move to sign Romagnoli.

The plan is to sign Romagnoli to a pre-contract agreement given that his Milan deal is up in the summer.

Ben Davies is the only option as a left-sided centre back right now, with Antonio Conte keen to add another.

Romagnoli fits the bill for Tottenham, and Fabio Paratici may look to strike that agreement with a view to a cut-price cash deal this month.

The current situation with Romagnoli and Milan has now been explained by Tutto Mercato Web.

They claim that Romagnoli is desperate to stay at Milan and is willing to take a huge pay cut to sign a new deal.

It’s stated that Romagnoli is willing to go from €6million-a-year (£96,000-a-week) to €3.5million-a-year (£56,000-a-week).

That’s a staggering drop, but Milan still aren’t prepared to meet those demands.

Tottenham can surely offer a better deal than that, and it’s stated that Romagnoli is set to leave Milan as things stand.

If Tottenham really do want Romagnoli, it appears that the door is very much open.
