Tottenham Hotspur want to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers ace Adama Traore, and teammate Conor Coady has now praised him as ‘unplayable’.
Wolves picked up a big win on Saturday afternoon, beating Southampton 3-1 at Molineux to continue their impressive season.
Raul Jimenez opened the scoring from the spot, before the home crowd were treated to a real collector’s item – a Coady goal!
James Ward-Prowse rattled home a ridiculous free kick to bring Southampton back into it, but Traore then killed the game off.
Traore raced clear from a Rayan Ait-Nouri pass to slot past Fraser Forster, finally scoring his first goal of the season.
Traore has endured a stop-start campaign so far this term. Bruno Lage has given him 10 Premier League starts, but brought him off the bench nine times.
The 25-year-old doesn’t have a settled role, and maybe that’s a perfect metaphor for Traore’s current Wolves situation.
Out of contract in 2023, it looks like Traore isn’t going to sign a new deal to stay at Wolves.
That leaves Lage’s men in a tricky spot. Do they sell now before Traore’s value declines, or keep hoping to convince him to stay?
At the moment, it almost looks like neither.
The Telegraph claim that Tottenham are desperate to sign Traore this month, but are struggling to afford him in a cash deal.
Tottenham instead want to take Traore on loan with an obligation to buy in the summer, giving Wolves something to think about.
Antonio Conte sees Traore as a wing back at Tottenham, adding a more dangerous attacking threat to compete with Emerson Royal.
For now though, Wolves can utilise the threat of Traore off the bench – which will cause fear in any back four.

Now, Traore has been praised by teammate Coady, who raved about the wide man on Wolves’ official website.
Coady suggested that there is nobody in world football quite like Traore, truly believing he is one of a kind.
Coady added that Traore is ‘unplayable’ and deserved his goal against Southampton, proving his worth as those Tottenham rumours swirl.
“I was happier for him than I was for myself. He deserves everything he gets. He deserves that goal because we can’t explain how hard he works in training because he’s one of the most hardest working players and people I’ve ever met in my life,” said Traore.
“I don’t think there’s any footballer like him in the world. His power, his aggression, the way he runs, how quick he is, I don’t think there’s anyone like him, and it’s an absolute pleasure to have him here because when he plays like he did today, he’s unplayable. What he does in training is absolutely fantastic and he deserves that, but we all deserve a good result tonight, and we’ll move on now to Brentford,” he added.
