Victor Wanyama was brilliant for Tottenham Hotspur last season – but he says that he can improve.
Speaking to ESPN, Victor Wanyama has told Tottenham Hotspur fans to expect a “better Victor” than the midfielder who proved such a massive hit in North London last season.
The 26-year-old joined Tottenham in an £11 million deal from Southampton and proved himself one of the best signings of the 2016 summer transfer window, in terms of value and influence.

The no-nonsense African was a rock in Spurs’ midfield last season, starting 35 Premier League matches as the Lilywhites challenged Chelsea for the title, but ultimately fell short.
Wanyama, who joined the Saints from Celtic in 2013, can’t possibly get that much better if his performances last term are anything to go by, but the Kenya international says indeed he will.
Asked by ESPN what Spurs fans can expect from him next term, he said: “I would say an improvement from last season.
“Hopefully they’ll see a better Victor than the one they saw last season.”
Of course, improving on his form last season would go a long way to helping Mauricio Pochettino’s side win the Premier League, but the Argentine boss could boost his own team’s chances by signing players.
So far, Pochettino is the only top-flight manager in England who is yet to strengthen his team this summer. In fact, Tottenham have been made weaker by Kyle Walker’s exit to Manchester City.
The good news is that there is well over a month before the window closes, but it remains to be seen who the Spurs man will bring in.
