Tottenham Hotspur new boy Tanguy Ndombele has already expressed his desire to win the Champions League at White Hart Lane, in an interview with the club’s official website.

Ndombele only signed for Tottenham from Lyon earlier this week, with the 22-year-old becoming Mauricio Pochettino’s side’s new record signing.

And it seems that Ndombele has high hopes for the future with Spurs, as he eyes European success.

“You know, the Champions League is a really tough competition to win,” Ndombele said.

“Things are decided by small margins and the strongest team doesn’t always win. I just hope I can win it next season with Tottenham – that would be perfect for me.”

Ndombele is expected to walk straight into Tottenham’s starting line-up for next season.

The French international is considered one of the most talented midfielders in the whole of European football, and his arrival at Tottenham is a real statement of intent.

Spurs, of course, made it to the Champions League final last term, but they were beaten 2-0 by Liverpool in Madrid.

Pochettino’s side may be hard pushed to repeat that success, but they do appear to have big plans this summer and Ndombele’s arrival certainly strengthens Tottenham’s chances of delivering silverware.
