Tottenham Hotspur allowed Christian Eriksen to leave the club in January of this year – but it hasn’t really worked out for him.
The Danish playmaker wanted to leave Tottenham last season, and after a summer move didn’t materialise, Spurs offloaded him in January before his contract expired.
So it was off to Italy for Eriksen as he joined Inter Milan, but the switch to the San Siro has ended up becoming something of a nightmare.
Eriksen, 28, is on the fringes of Antonio Conte’s side, and played just five minutes of last night’s 0-0 draw with Shakhtar Donetsk.
Less than a year into his time with Inter, Eriksen is already being linked with a move away from the club – and a return to London could yet come to fruition.
Not with Tottenham though; no, it’s West Ham United being linked with Eriksen, as Eurosport claim the Hammers are plotting an ambitious move.

Whether Eriksen would be interested is another matter, but Spurs fans have been taking to Twitter to react to suggestions that Eriksen could end up with their rivals.
Many suggested that this shows just how far Eriksen has fallen, reminding him that the grass isn’t always greener as he potentially faces heading to West Ham when he wanted to leave Spurs to challenge for title just a year ago.
