Tottenham Hotspur picked up their first win of this season’s Champions League with a 1-0 victory away at CSKA Moscow on Tuesday evening.
Spurs lost their first game of the competition with a 2-1 home defeat to Monaco, and had to make the gruelling trip to Russia to take on a dangerous CSKA Moscow side.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men were in high spirits though having beaten Middlesbrough 2-1 on Saturday, where Heung-min Son scored twice – and the South Korean was Tottenham’s hero once again.
Tottenham picked up a 1-0 win over CSKA as Son continued his stunning recent form by scoring the winning goal, as he latched on to Erik Lamela’s through ball and drove the ball underneath goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev.

Spurs will travel to Bayer Leverkusen for their next Champions League game shortly after the international break, but for now they can celebrate Tuesday’s win, and gear up for the huge Premier League clash with Manchester City this weekend.
After the final whistle, former Tottenham stars Micky Hazard, Steve Archibald and Graham Roberts all took to Twitter to send messages of support to the Spurs players.

Hazard celebrated the victory, but suggested that Tottenham dominated the game and maybe should have scored more than the one goal they got.
Archibald claimed it was a ‘great result’, particularly because it was in such a tough environment in Russia, whilst Roberts was pleased to be up and running in this season’s Champions League with the win.
