Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy will have to pay €20 million (£18 million) to bring Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim, according to a report.

Tottenham Hotspur need to pay £18m for Ruben Amorim

The Athletic have reported this morning that Amorim has a €20 million (£18 million) release clause for non-Portuguese clubs.

Tottenham are reportedly interested in hiring the 38-year-old former Portugal international midfielder as their new head coach.

The report has added that Amorim has the “ability to connect with and inspire his players”.

Promising

In our view, Ruben Amorim is a very good and promising young manager who could flourish at Tottenham Hotspur and make the North London club better.

Yes, Amorim is only 38 now, but he is hugely experienced.

The former Portugal international midfielder has been in the management game since 2018.

With Braga, Amorim won Taça da Liga in 2019-20.

During his spell at Sporting so far, the 38-year-old has won the Primeira Liga once and Taça da Liga twice already.

Sporting still have a small chance of winning the Portuguese Primeira Liga Table this season.

We believe that if given time and resources, Amorim could really work wonders at Tottenham.
